This is a very attractive plate of Canadian crinoids. These are Cupulocrinus jewetti from the Ordovician. There are four specimens of this crinoid on the slab. This type of crinoid has a somewhat cone-shaped cup composed of large plates and multi-branching, uniserial arms. These crinoids exhibit fine detail - the plate structure is easily seen. The cream-colored crinoids contrast wonderfully with the gray matrix. The fossils are beautifully presented on the large rectangular plate of dense limestone. And, best of all, they are totally natural to the piece - they have not been composited. This is a very displayable plate of Ordovician crinoids.
