This is a fabulous fossil leaf. It is a HUGE Allophylus leaf from Utah. This specimen is gargantuan - over 8 INCHES LONG! The leaf has great color and detail. The venation of the leaf is easily seen. The petiole (stem) is complete down to the the branch attachment point. The leaf is beautifully centered on the large, rectangular matrix block. And just to give it some character, the leaf is slightly bug-eaten in spots. This is one of the largest leaves we know of found in the Green River Formation of Utah. It is an extremely collectible fossil leaf from the Eocene.
