This is an excellent shark tooth from an unusual location. It is a large Carcharocles megalodon tooth from Virginia. This specimen was found in the Chesapeake Bay, a very collectible locality for fossil shark teeth. The tooth has the classic wide, arrowhead-like shape. Both the enamel and root of this tooth are light black, giving the tooth a bold look. The serrations are extremely sharp and practically flawless, and the very tip of the tooth is intact and pointed. The back side of the tooth also displays beautifully. This is a ''Grade A'' fossil shark tooth from a very desirable locality.
