Here is a very displayable fossil leaf. This specimen is from the Eocene of British Columbia. This large leaf has an asymmetrical base and undulate margins. The pinnate venation is very strong and easily seen with the naked eye. A very stout petiole is still attached. The natural, dark brown fossil contrasts beautifully with the tan matrix. The leaf is well centered on the natural plate of shale. This is a fossil leaf that would look great in any collection.
