Here is a very nice plate of fossil leaves from the Green River Formation of Utah. At the top of the plate are three specimens of Salix cockerelli, a willow. Two of the leaves are still attached to the central stem. These lance-shaped leaves have slightly dentate margins and strong primary venation. At the bottom of the plate is a fine example of Cardiospermum coloradensis, a balloon vine. This lobed leaf is very nicely defined. The fossils have nice color and contrast. The leaves are well centered on the natural plate of shale. This is a very nice block with two different types of leaves.
