Here is an unusual fossil leaf. This is Leguminosites regularis from the Eocene of Utah. Only a handful of this particular species are found each year. This specimen exhibits very fine detail. The weak venation and short petiole (typical of the genus) are nicely displayed. The leaf has excellent color and contrast. It is almost perfectly centered on the natural plate of shale. This is a very nice example of this rare species of Leguminosites.
