Here is a very interesting plate of fossil bird tracks from the Green River Formation of Utah. There are two distinct types of tracks on the plate. There are at least three smaller tracks present. These were probably made by a snipe-like bird. There is also a very large track in the middle of the plate. This track was probably made by a flamingo-like bird. It is very easy to understand how a bird made tracks in the mud along the shoreline of the lake. The mud later turned to stone and the bird tracks were preserved. This is a great specimen of two different types of bird tracks from the Eocene.
