This is a very unique decapod from the world-famous Solnhofen Limestone of Germany. This particular animal had a pair of extremely long appendages with claws which it used to grasp its prey. These long appendages are very clear on this specimen. The segmentation of the animal is easily seen. Also, there is a floating crinoid, Saccocoma pectinata, present on the plate. It appears as if this lobster-like crustacean is reaching for the crinoid. The specimen is well presented on the large, natural plate of lithographic limestone. This is a very affordable specimen of this strange-looking decapod from a very famous fossil site.
