Here is a spectacular ammonite from the Jurassic of France. This type of ammonite has very faint ribbing and a sharp keel. This large specimen is very ''clean'' and well preserved. The coiling pattern of the mollusk is easily seen and the inner whorls of the ammonite are clearly defined. Even the intricate suture pattern is quite evident. This 3-dimensional fossil has excellent, greenish-brown color and contrasts well with the matrix. It is wonderfully presented on the large block of matrix that has been sawed flat on the bottom for optimal display. This is an excellent specimen of this beautiful ammonite from France.
