Here is a very nice specimen of Knightia humilis from the Green River Formation. There are two examples of Knightia on this plate. Both fish exhibit excellent detail. The bone structure is clearly defined, and the fins are easily seen. The fish are approximately the same size and almost ''mirror images'' of each other. The orangish-brown fish contrast beautifully with the cream-colored matrix. The fish are nicely centered on the somewhat oval plate of shale. This is a fine double specimen of fossil herring from the Eocene of Wyoming.
