Unusual Jurassic Crustacean - Palaeastacus

This is Palaeastacus fuciformis, a lobster-like crustacean from the famous Solnhofen Limestone of Germany. The specimen has good color and is situated nicely on a natural plate of matrix. The fossil shows good segmentation of the body and some of the legs are preserved. The pincers are well displayed and the long antennae can be observed. This is a fine specimen of a fossil crustacean from one of the most famous fossil localities in the world.
