This is a very rare fossil. It is a horseshoe crab, Euproops danae, from the Pennsylvanian of Missouri. The fossil exhibits good detail. The head and body of the horseshoe crab are both present. The fossil has been preserved in a siderite concretion. Both part and counterpart of the fossil are preserved. Thousands of these concretions are broken before one of these is found. This is a nice specimen of a primitive horsehoe crab from the "coal-age" deposits of Missouri.
