This is a nice specimen of fossilized bark. It is from an extinct tree of the Pennsylvanian Period. This specimen was found about 15 years ago. The bark has parallel grooves and striations. There is also a similar pattern on the back side of the plate. This is a very good specimen of fossilized bark.
