Here is an extremely unusual fossil. This is an excellent specimen of Macaridian sp. from the Silurian of New York. This armor-plated worm is one of the rarest fossils to be found in the Rochester Shale. This specimen is one of the nicest that we have ever seen - the individual plates are clearly defined. The worm is preserved in a 3-dimensional manner and is well centered on the natural plate of shale. This is a wonderful specimen of this extremely uncommon fossil worm.
