This is a nice botanical fossil. It is a fine Fossil Flower from Russia. Plants, especially flowers, are rare occurrences in amber - they had to fall in or be blown into the resin, whereas insects could crawl or fly into the sap. This fine specimen has very good detail. The large petals are very well preserved, and individual stamens are quite distinct. The entire flower is easily seen in the polished piece of fossilized tree resin. This is a nice example of an extremely scarce flower preserved in Baltic Amber (small close-up photo is included for free).
