This is a rare Green River fish. It is an Eohiodon falcatus from Wyoming. This type is called a "mooneye", and is a predatory fish. This specimen displays well, and even has the mouth open and some of the small teeth exposed! The fish has nice color and detail, and it is well-centered on the unbroken, squared matrix plate. This is a fine example of this hard-to-find type of fossil fish.
