This is a rare fossil shark tooth. It is a Hexanchus tooth from Chile. The type of shark this tooth came from is called a Cow Shark. This specimen is large and has great enamel. It has beautiful coloration. And the tooth is encased in a natural chunk of sandy matrix. This is a good example of this very uncommon Cow Shark tooth in matrix.
