This is a very rare juvenile specimen of Phareodus testis from the Green River Formation of Wyoming. The fish is nicely centered on a semi-rectangular slab of shale. The fossil fish has good color and contrasts well with the matrix. The fossil exhibits good detail. The bone structure is nice and even some of the tiny teeth are preserved. This is a fine juvenile example of Phareodus from the Eocene.
