This is a very aesthetic crinoid. It is a Cupulocrinus jewetti from the Ordovician of Canada. This crinoid is very inflated and exhibits fine detail. The plate structure of the cup is easily seen, and the extremely long, thin, uniserial arms are gracefully displayed. A lengthy portion of the round stem is intact and tightly attached to the cone-shaped cup. The cream-colored crinoid contrasts nicely with the gray matrix. The crinoid is well presented on the natural plate. This is a very pretty Ordovician crinoid from the Bobcaygeon Formation.
