This is a slab of volcanic ash completely packed with Metasequoia (Dawn Redwood) fronds and associated partial leaves. The fossils are well exposed on both sides of the matrix plate. The fossils have nice dark color and contrast well with the lighter colored matrix. This is an interesting assemblage of flora from the Oligocene of Idaho.
