This is a beautiful tooth that we recently obtained from a major shark tooth collection. It is a Carcharocles megalodon tooth from the Pliocene of North Carolina. Extinct giant white shark teeth from North Carolina are becoming very scarce, since public fossil collecting was curtailed a few years ago. This tooth is very ''hefty''. The root is very solid and substantial. The shiny enamel is wonderfully preserved and has great color. The razor-sharp serrations are beautifully displayed and the very tip of the tooth is near perfect. This is an excellent shark tooth from the famous Lee Creek Mine.
