This is a VERY unusual fossil shark tooth. It is a Carcharocles megalodon tooth from Chile. This specimen is from the very side of the jaw, which makes it much wider than it is tall. Although the very tip is restored, the serrations are still intact. The root is very thick and robust, and it is in great shape. This is a very nice example of a shark tooth from an unusual part of the mouth.
