This is a very large predatory fish. It is an Eohiodon falcatus from the Green River Formation. There are only a handful of complete specimens of this type found each year, and they are almost never this large. This specimen has nice color and detail. The small teeth in the mouth are preserved, and the eye socket is easily seen. The large fish is nicely centered on the oblong plate of matrix. This is without a doubt the largest example of this rare type we have ever had.
