Here is a pretty specimen of Saccocoma pectinata. This is a free-floating crinoid from the world-famous Solnhofen Limestone of Germany. This stemless, comatulid crinoid has been darkened to make for a better display. The crinoid exhibits the small cup and ten sinuous, pinnulated arms. The fossil is well positioned on the somewhat rectangular plate of lithographic limestone. This is a very attractive specimen of an unusual floating crinoid from the Jurassic.
