This is a very nice shark tooth that we recently obtained from a major collection. It is a Carcharocles megalodon tooth from North Carolina. Megalodon teeth from North Carolina are very scarce, since fossil collecting was halted at the Lee Creek Mine several years ago. Although the very tip of the tooth is not perfect, the razor-sharp serrations are just outstanding. The root is very solid and robust, and the enamel is well preserved and has beautiful, very unusual, coloration. Both sides of the tooth display beautifully. This is a very aesthetic Carcharocles megalodon tooth from the Phosphate Mines of North Carolina.
