Here is a beautiful display plate of Diplomystus dentatus. This specimen is from the Eocene of Wyoming. There are two complete fish aesthetically positioned on the rectangular plate of shale. The fossils exhibit very fine detail. The bone structure of the fish is wonderfully displayed. The eye sockets are easily seen. The fins are extremely well preserved. The brown fossil fish contrast very nicely with the cream-colored matrix. This is an excellent plate of fossil herring from the Green River Formation. This plate would look great in anyone's home or office.
