Here is a nice crinoid & blastoid association specimen from the Mississippian of Missouri. The crinoid is Physetocrinus ventricosus. This crinoid exhibits very fine plate structure. The blastoid is Schizoblastus sayi. The ambulacra are well displayed and the spiracles are evident. Both specimens are very 3-dimensional. The white color of the fossils contrasts nicely with the natural orangish-brown matrix. There are other crinoid fragments on the block of limestone. This is an interesting specimen from the Upper Burlington Formation.
