This is a very rare specimen. It is a Sterculia coloradensis from the Green River Formation. This appears to be a leaf from a tropical vine. The strangely-lobed leaf exhibits great venation. The short petiole is attached to the leaf. The fossil has fine color and contrast. It is well positioned on the natural block of shale. This is a very unusual plant fossil from the Eocene of Utah.
