This is a "textbook" specimen of Allophylus flexifolia from the Green River Shale. The specimen is complete and exhibits nice detail. The undulate margins are intact. The venation of the leaf is easily seen. The short petiole is complete and attached to the leaf. The fossil has great color and superb contrast. It is well centered on the rectangular block of matrix. This is a very fine specimen of Allophylus from the Eocene of Utah.
