Extremely Unusual Canadian Camerate Crinoid

Name:   Reteocrinus cf. stellaris
Age:  Ordovician
Formation:  Bobcaygeon
Location:  Simcoe Co., Ontario
Size:  Crinoid is 5.0 inches counting stem.

A number of years ago, a small pocket of these crinoids were found. Obtained from a major collection, this is a very strange camerate crinoid. The cup is deeply pitted and the stem is pentagonal in cross section. This is a nice specimen of a very rare species from Ontario.
