This is a very impressive fossil leaf from the Eocene of Tennessee. This is the last remaining specimen we have from the old collection that we acquired. This leaf is quite large and exhibits wonderful detail. The serrated margins of the leaf are wonderfully defined, and the venation of the leaf is easily seen. The very tip of the leaf is intact, and the petiole is still tightly attached. The fossil leaf has beautiful, natural coloration and contrasts well with the pinkish-tan matrix. There are even some partial leaves on the reverse side of the plate. This is a stunning example of a fossil leaf from this unusual location.
