This is a beautiful display fossil. It is a large Phareodus fossil fish from Wyoming. Phareodus was a predatory fish, with a mouth full of sharp teeth. This specimen showcases these teeth beautifully. The fish is very well-preserved and has extremely fine detail. The fins and tail are simply awesome - very complete and symmetrical. The scale pattern is even preserved on this specimen. The fish is almost perfectly centered on an aesthetic, rectangular matrix plate. And, remember, this fish is well over 13 inches long - WOW! This is one of the largest and most displayable fossil fish we have ever had.
